DO OR DIE
DO-OR-DIE – Requiring supreme effort to avoid the dire consequences of failure.
MF has always been about providing. Whether it’s a higher quality of life, a better environment to work in, a way to stay out of trouble, or an outlet for those that are stuck in the daily rat race trying to provide for theirs. It has always been about providing options for those that want/need it. You can’t provide if you aren’t making ends meet, and things don’t add up when you’ve got a small brand with an extra large overhead.
We put so much effort into offering a quality product, we end up losing focus on the mission we set out to achieve. Personally, I would rather close up shop than to offer a subpar product. With that being said, in the infant stages of building the brand, we took on production to ensure that we are putting out a quality product. That was one step that consumed my life for over a decade. I apologize to all for getting lost and caught up in the day-to-day struggles and losing focus of the big picture, as well as the small things that really matter in life.
People always tell me that hard work pays off, and that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I wonder sometimes how long this tunnel is, and if we will ever make it out of that tunnel to see that light.
Living with this much constant pressure. You aren’t allowed to have feelings/emotions. You aren’t allowed sick days, bad days, or time off. Self motivated to work 48 hours a day. Everyone is quick to make judgement on every move we make from the outside. It’s easy to stand there and assume. I’ll give two fucks what anyone thinks when they start to put food on the tables of the families depending on this to succeed. We all make sacrifices and pour everything we have into this brand. I’ve reached my breaking point. Since we’re not allowed to break, this is how I will break.
Our landlords and the electric company doesn’t give a shit how many likes we get on Instagram, or how successful things appear to look from the outside. I’m leaving the island to build. Leaving my family, team, city, and everything I love behind. We appreciate all the love and support that has brought us thus far. Now it’s time to handle business. New rules, everyone pays.
DEATH OR GLORY.
